Warranty Request Information

What is covered by the warranty?

Subject to the terms of this Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) and any warranty policies and procedures in effect when a claim is received, LGA Garage Door will repair or replace, at our sole discretion, garage door sections and section components, hardware, or springs and spring components (collectively, “Replacement Parts”) that we determine to be defective in material or workmanship. Written notice must be provided within the applicable limited warranty period.

This Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of a Clopay garage door product purchased from and installed by LGA Garage Door. It is non-transferable.

The Warranty period begins on the closing date, and proof of purchase is required. After an authorized LGA Garage Door representative verifies a covered defect, we will provide the Replacement Parts needed to repair or replace the defective sections, hardware, or spring components at no cost to you. We reserve the right to inspect and verify any claimed defect and to replace a product or component with a similar product or component at our sole discretion. LGA Garage Door is responsible for labor costs associated with an approved warranty claim, including removal, reinstallation, installation, and finishing.

What is not covered?

This Warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by:

• Paint in general, or paint or stain that was not applied after delivery according to the manufacturer’s specifications
• Failure to follow maintenance instructions
• Fire, harmful fumes, chemical action, foreign substances, abrasive materials, radiation, or UV exposure
• Accident, casualty, vandalism, acts of God, or other physical damage
• Salt spray, coastal weather conditions, or other environmental exposure
• Normal wear and tear
• Replacement of consumable items, including remote-control batteries and light bulbs
• Operation beyond rated capacity, improper use, or abuse
• Alteration, modification, or the use of non-OEM or non-approved parts or products
• Normal fading or discoloration caused by use, age, or UV exposure
• Thermal bow as described in DASMA Technical Data Sheet 185

Repairs, alterations, and routine maintenance

If you make a repair or alteration without first notifying and receiving authorization from LGA Garage Door, or if you use parts, accessories, or attachments that we have not authorized for use with the product, you will be solely responsible for those repairs or parts and may void this Warranty.

Routine maintenance, related items, minor adjustments, and damage caused by another technician after the closing date are not covered.

How to submit a warranty claim

Notify LGA Garage Door Customer Service promptly after discovering a defect by emailing warranty@lga-garagedoor.com. Please include:

• Proof of purchase
• A complete description of the issue
• Clear photographs showing the issue

Manufacturing or workmanship defects that are immediately obvious or visible at installation must be reported within 45 days of delivery, or the claim may be barred. Examples include an incorrect or inconsistent paint color, surface contaminants or smudges, visible physical damage, and major scratches.

Limitation of liability

Under no circumstances will LGA Garage Door be liable for consequential or special damages that any person or entity incurs or claims to incur as a result of a defect in the product or any correction or alteration made or furnished by us or others. Our maximum liability under this Warranty is limited to the purchase price paid to us for the garage door for which the warranty claim is made.

These limitation-of-liability provisions apply to all claims or suits brought against us, including claims based on negligence, breach of contract, breach of warranty, strict liability, or any other theory on which liability may be asserted.

Other warranty terms

This Warranty is our entire and exclusive warranty for the product and the sole and exclusive remedy for product defects in material and workmanship. We do not assume, and have not authorized any other person to assume on our behalf, any other warranty or liability related to a product covered by this Warranty.

We make no other warranties, representations, or covenants, express or implied, with respect to the product, including warranties, representations, or covenants regarding workmanship, design, capacity, quality, condition, merchantability, or fitness for any purpose, except for any “implied warranty” as defined in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty—Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act. Any such implied warranty is limited to one year from the purchase date.

This Warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

To the extent of any conflict between this Warranty and another document, this Warranty controls.
