Entrapment protection

## A door that reverses or refuses to close may be responding to a safety fault.

Photo eyes help detect an obstruction across the opening. Alignment, lenses, brackets, wiring, connections, sunlight, travel settings, force settings, controls, and mechanical door movement can all affect closing behavior.

###  Blinking indicators 

A sensor may be misaligned, obstructed, damaged, disconnected, or poorly wired.

###  Door reverses 

The opener may see an obstruction or respond to limits, force, or mechanical resistance.

###  Door will not close 

Safety input, control, wiring, sunlight, or door-travel problems may be preventing movement.

###  Intermittent behavior 

Loose brackets, vibration, wiring faults, glare, or marginal alignment can come and go.

##  How the safety system is checked 

Sensor work should end with a complete closing and reversal test.

###  Inspect the path 

Check both lenses, brackets, lights, wiring routes, connections, and the opening.

###  Correct the fault 

Align, secure, clean, reconnect, repair, or replace compatible components as needed.

###  Test protection 

Verify photo-eye response, automatic reversal, travel, force, and normal controls.

Do not defeat the sensors

## A temporary workaround can remove an essential layer of protection.
