## Treat the opening as a documented life-safety assembly

A fire-rated door must remain consistent with its listing and the approved opening. Curtain or sections, guides, release devices, detectors or alarm interfaces, fusible links, operators, mounting conditions, clearances, labels, testing, and service records all matter.

Repairs and testing should be coordinated with the facility safety plan and applicable authority requirements. Alterations that seem minor can affect the listed assembly, so damaged or unreliable components should be evaluated before changes are made.
